Dental Treatment for International Patients

Typical stay, number of trips and how to start

Dental treatment at Sadbhaav is led by Dr Dhara Patel, MDS (Endodontics). International patients start with a free review of their X-rays and photos, so you know the plan, how many visits and days you will need, and the estimated cost before you travel.

Treatments and typical time in Ahmedabad

TreatmentTypical stayNotes
Dental implantsUsually two trips: about 1 week for placement, then about 1 week 3–6 months later for the final teethBone needs time to heal around the implant before the final crown is fitted. A CBCT scan shows whether bone grafting is needed, which adds time. Temporary teeth can often be given between trips.
Crowns and bridgesAbout 5–7 daysTeeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the laboratory-made crowns fitted and adjusted before you leave.
VeneersAbout 1 weekIncludes planning your smile, preparing the teeth and fitting the veneers.
Root canal treatment2–5 daysUsually one or two visits by our endodontist, followed by a crown where needed.
DenturesAbout 1–2 weeksSeveral short visits for impressions, trial fitting and final adjustment.
Teeth whitening and cleaning1–2 daysCan be combined with other treatment.
Gum treatmentA few days to 1 weekDepends on how advanced the gum disease is.
Tooth extraction, including wisdom teeth3–7 daysA short review before you fly to check healing.
Braces and alignersNot suited to a single tripOrthodontic treatment needs regular adjustments over 12–24 months, so it is best done near home.

Typical times only. Your dentist confirms the number of days after examining you.

Costs

Dental costs depend on the number of teeth, the materials (for example zirconia or porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns, and the implant system) and whether extra procedures such as bone grafting are needed. Send your OPG X-ray and photos and we will reply with a written estimate in Indian rupees with an approximate US dollar figure.

What to send for your free review

  • A panoramic X-ray (OPG) taken in the last 6 months; for implants, a CBCT scan if you have one
  • Clear photos of your teeth: front smile, both sides, and upper and lower teeth from above and below
  • What you would like to change, and details of existing crowns, bridges, implants or dentures
  • Medical conditions (diabetes, heart disease, blood thinners, osteoporosis medicines) and current medicines

Good to know

  • Implants need patience. Be cautious of offers to complete implants in a few days unless your scans show this is suitable. Most patients do best with two trips.
  • Avoid flying on the same day as a surgical extraction or implant placement; a day or two of rest helps healing.
  • Smoking slows healing and increases the risk of implant failure. Stopping before treatment helps.
  • Family members can combine dental care with an eye check-up or eye treatment in the same clinic.
