Perimetry, also called a visual field test, measures your complete field of vision — central and peripheral — and is one of the most important tools for detecting and monitoring glaucoma, since glaucoma typically damages peripheral vision first, often before you'd notice anything yourself.

Why this test matters

What the test involves

One eye is tested at a time while you focus on a central point. The test is painless and usually takes around 15 minutes per eye.
