RPC Rounds for Optometrists: B.Optom Curriculum, Study Guide and Practical Pearls

Last updated: November 2026

RPC Rounds for Optometrists is a free study guide for B.Optom and diploma optometry students, following the subjects of the four-year B.Optom course used across Indian universities. Each topic page explains the essentials, adds a practical pearl from the clinic, lists where students slip, and ends with flip cards and a quick quiz. Tick topics off as you revise; progress is saved on your device.

How to study with these pages

  • Learn, then test: read a topic, do its flip cards the same day and the quiz a few days later; add hard cards to the flashcard review.
  • Practise on real people: every practical pearl is something to try in your clinical posting: neutralise ten pairs of glasses on the lensometer, refract classmates, grade every contact lens patient you see.
  • Exams: use the B.Optom mock test; for higher studies and residency-level depth, see the ophthalmology revision checklist and other mock tests.
  • Careers: clinical optometry, contact lenses and low vision, binocular vision clinics, optical retail and dispensing, community eye health, research and industry, and teaching. Registration with the national and state councils under the NCAHP Act is becoming the requirement to practise; see community optometry and law.
